Wolves News: Gary O’Neil January decisions to be made

Gary O'Neil: Bournemouth appoint 39-year-old to replace Scott Parker as permanent head coach | Football News | Sky SportsHow much business Wolves can accomplish in the January window will depend on a number of factors, according to Gary O’Neil.

Wolves still needs to exercise caution in January following a turbulent summer in which the team was compelled to sell several players in order to meet the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

They do, however, have some leeway to add players, with the possibility of adding a winger and a striker at the top of the shopping list.

O’Neil states that potential sales and Jonny Castro Otto’s uncertain future will have an effect on the business that Wolves can accomplish.

“We have not had many discussions around January as of yet,” stated O’Neil. We had a vague understanding that we wouldn’t be doing a lot of business this season. We will have the chance to do some in January.

However, there will be a lot to choose from in terms of what, when, and how much we can accomplish. As January approaches—and it is sneaking up on us—we can anticipate the January question a little bit closer to that month.

O’Neil was quick to support the players who were already in his squad, even though he was eager to add more attacking talent.

“Any manager will want windows and their chance to shape things,” he continued. However, I’m thrilled with my group.

“I said that as soon as I walked in. I like working with each and every one of them. As for me, I have no complaints about anyone.

“When I got there, I knew what the assignment was. The club ought to have tried to raise £100 million in the summer, in my opinion. That’s what we were attempting to do.

“I knew going in what kind of group I was in. Both back then and right now, I’m really happy with it. There are no problems with having to swap out personnel. I’ll always collaborate with the team the club assigns me.

Meanwhile, O’Neil has urged his players to be wary of suspensions because of the small squad size.
