Formerly part of the Hawthorn team, Tyler Brockman now represents the West Coast Eagles, where he showcased his aerial skills with an impressive mark during Sunday’s match against the Western Bulldogs.

Since his transfer from Hawthorn last year, Brockman has been a regular fixture in the West Coast lineup, featuring in every game and displaying glimpses of his promising talent in the first two rounds of the season.

With Liam Ryan, a key aerial player for the Eagles, absent from the lineup, the 21-year-old Brockman took it upon himself to elevate his game and reach new heights within Marvel Stadium. In a remarkable display of athleticism, he leaped over his teammate Bailey Williams in the second quarter to secure an outstanding mark.

Despite facing off against the towering 201cm ruckman, Brockman effortlessly soared above him, landing on both feet and swiftly recovering possession to continue the play.

However, his efforts ultimately went unrewarded as he turned the ball over with his subsequent kick up the ground.

West Coast started the match strongly against the Western Bulldogs, a team they famously upset late last season at the same venue.

This victory marked one of the struggling Eagles’ three wins in 2023, briefly lifting them off the bottom of the ladder before North Melbourne overtook them in the final round, resulting in West Coast claiming the wooden spoon.

Nevertheless, the Eagles’ silver lining came in the form of securing the No.1 pick in the draft, which enabled them to select Harley Reid, also making his third appearance for the team in blue and gold against the Bulldogs.

At halftime, the hosts gained momentum in the second quarter, outscoring West Coast with a dominant performance of 6.2 to the Eagles’ solitary behind, leading by 39 points heading into the main break.
