Wednesday headlines: Kentucky football’s major concerns regarding their running back

BBN, good morning!

With the news that RB transfer Chip Trayanum broke his hand yesterday, it wasn’t the finest morning.

Trayanum is reportedly expected to miss 1-2 games and three to four weeks of work. That would keep him out of the August 31 game against Southern Miss, and it would be unclear how he would fare against South Carolina on September 7.

There is no hiding how serious this may be if Trayanum is sidelined for an extended period of time due to complications—he has been the starting running back since arriving in Lexington in the spring and during fall camp.

Demie Sumo-Karngbaye, redshirt freshman Jamarion Wilcox, and possibly true freshman Jason Patterson will now be the Kentucky Wildcats’ main options for the first two games.

Gavin Wimsatt, the backup quarterback, might even be seen in the backfield.

Hopefully, Chip will recover quickly!
