The UNM Lobos triumphed over Air Force, rising to the occasion as the sunset shattered across Las Vegas.

With a decisive victory over the Air Force Falcons, the Lobos are able to advance further in the Mountain West Tournament.

The fans felt that this game demonstrated the qualities of the Lobos. The crew enjoyed themselves while winning and performing their duties.

The New Mexico Lobos were palpably felt in the arena. Gamers benefited from that vigor. The Lobos basketball team gained the advantage they needed by scoring in the desired areas in the first half. Since they last met the Air Force late in the season, the Lobos have played with more intensity.

Donovan Dent, Tru Washington, and coach Richard Pitino were there after the game. They say that although the game may be over, the work is not.

“Overall, it was about as complete of a performance as we’ve had in a while,” Pitino stated. “I know it was the largest margin of victory in the history for us in the Mountain West Tournament, which was great.”

Dent, the Lobos guard, said, “We know what we got to do, we got to be physical and we didn’t win against any of them in the regular season so we know what we got to do to figure it out.”

“This first game, we were just trying to get the rhythm and just going into the next game and getting a win,” Washington stated.

Pitino said that things won’t get much easier from here on out and that they must utilize this momentum when they play Boise State on Thursday night at 9:30 p.m.

Forward JT Toppin led the way for the Lobos with 18 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and a block in an 82-56 victory over Air Force. When Jamal Mashburn Jr. returned to the game, he scored 10 points. On Wednesday afternoon, Jaelen House added three steals along with another 16 points.
