UPDATED: The Pittsburgh Steelers are keeping an eye on a local passer out of Gannon

Steelers Submit Official Request to Hold NFL Draft in Pittsburgh - Sports Illustrated

According to MLFootball, former Gannon quarterback Kory Curtis will be in town for a private session with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former Ohio State and Gannon quarterback Curtis has begun to get attention from NFL teams, and the Steelers have joined the list of teams that have visited him, along with the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders.

After attending Ohio State for his first two years of college, Curtis switched to Bryant. After that, he travelled to Erie, Pennsylvania, where at Gannon, he passed for 5,134 yards and 47 touchdowns.

The Steelers could try to recruit a younger quarterback as possible competition, as they now have three quarterbacks in Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Kyle Allen. After 2024, none of the quarterbacks will be under contract, so Pittsburgh may try to locate a backup quarterback.

Maybe that QB is Curtis. Teams have been captivated by his powerful arm and D1. Just as they do with Pitt guys every year, they might decide to bring in a local athlete with upside if the workout impresses them.
