TRANSFER UPDATE: Stoke City Will Decide On A £2.2 Million Summer Move

Sead Haksabanovic post Celtic record as Stoke City loan progress begins to stutter - Football Scotland

According to the most recent sources, Sead Haksabanovic is anticipated to return to Celtic after Stoke City decides not to make his transfer a permanent one at the end of the season.

The Potters have endured a taxing campaign, spending most of it buried deep in the standings, mired in an exhausting relegation struggle. But after defeating Plymouth Argyle 3-0 at the Bet365 Stadium last weekend, Steven Schumacher’s club has already amassed 50 points in the Championship.

With two games left, the former Premier League team is still in danger as they sit four points above the relegation zone. However, a win or perhaps a draw against Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium and Bristol City at home should virtually guarantee their survival for the upcoming campaign.

After Stoke City is assured of a spot in England’s second division, the board will undoubtedly look into what went wrong for the team throughout the season and will attempt to bolster the roster in preparation for 2024–2025.

Haksabanovic is one player that will not be present at the Bet365 Stadium. With just 23 appearances for the team in all competitions under both Schumacher and Alex Neil, the winger’s season at Stoke-on-Trent has been poor. He has only contributed three goals to the team’s score.

Stoke decided not to sign the attacker permanently, according to a report from Swedish publication Fotbal Direkt, which was sourced by Football Scotland. The Montenegro international is expected to make a return to Celtic Park this summer.

Under Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou, the 24-year-old helped the Glasgow giants win a domestic triple last season. The Scottish champions have reportedly placed a £2.2 million price tag on him.

Having joined Premier League side West Ham United as a teenager back in 2017, Haksabanovic has now failed at two different teams in England, after showing flashes of his talent during the previous campaign with Celtic.

This highly-rated talent was acquired by the Hammers from the Allsvenskan seven years ago for £2.7 million, but over ten years later, Celtic wants less. It’s evident that Stoke City is unable to assist Haksabanovic in realising his full potential, since he has not performed up to par throughout his career.
