KRC Genk full-back This month, Daniel Muñoz “absolutely wants” to come to Crystal Palace, but the Eagles are having trouble persuading the Belgian team.

Het Nieuwsblad claims that Crystal Palace hasn’t yet “come up with the cash” to get the 27-year-old to sign.

According to reports from England, Crystal Palace had started negotiations to sign the full-back, who is valued at €10 million, before the end of this month.

Reports from Belgium swiftly retracted this, suggesting that while Crystal Palace would be interested, there was currently no bid and no indication that his chances of leaving were increasing.

Het Nieuwsblad now picks up on it and explains that there is now little chance that Muñoz will be going to Crystal Palace.
Although Genk is willing to talk to Crystal Palace because he “absolutely wants” to play in the Premier League, the Eagles are unable to “come up with enough cash” to persuade Genk to enter into a contract.

They do, however, qualify this as “for the time being” due to Palace’s unable to secure the necessary finances, but they don’t know why.

Maybe Genk thinks Crystal Palace will be selling someone from the team to raise money, or more likely, that they will be digging up the back of the sofa. In either case, Muñoz is not moving since they do not now have the funds.
