Michael Carrick’s side are reportedly keen on Liverpool’s young full-back Conor Bradley.

HIGHLIGHTS
Liverpool’s Conor Bradley is attracting interest from up to a dozen clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

Leeds, West Brom, Middlesbrough, and Burnley are named as some of the clubs interested in loaning Bradley.

Middlesbrough could benefit from signing Bradley as a right-back and he has the ability to thrive in the Championship.

Liverpool are fielding plenty of calls regarding youngster Conor Bradley ahead of the January transfer window

That is according to TEAMtalk who report that up to a dozen sides have enquired about the Northern Irish international ahead of the winter window.

Three Championship clubs are named as keen in their report, with Leeds, West Brom, and Middlesbrough all said to eyeing a loan deal for the 20-year-old.

Premier League side Burnley are also credited with some interest in the Liverpool talent.

The update states the Reds are willing to loan Bradley out in January after he did so well at Bolton Wanderers last season.

Would Conor Bradley be a good signing for Middlesbrough?

Specifically looking at Boro’s interest in the Liverpool starlet, it must be considered how he’d fit in at the Riverside Stadium, and indeed, how much game time he would get.

Conor Bradley is ready for Championship football and Middlesbrough could well be an interesting destination.

On loan in League One last season at Bolton, Bradley scored five and assisted five in 41 league appearances. That, combined with the fact he is a full international for Northern Ireland should mean he has the experiences and ability to thrive in the second tier.#

Until recently, you would have said that Boro could do with a right-back, with Rav van den Berg, usually a central defender, having to fill in there for Michael Carrick’s side this season.

That was until recently, with Anfernee Dijksteel returning and occupying the position in recent weeks.

If Liverpool are really confident in Bradley’s ability, there will certainly be minutes there for him at Middlesbrough, but whether or not he can leapfrog someone like Dijksteel, with all his Championship experience, would remain to be seen.

In any scenario, Liverpool would be wise to seek assurances about playing time and that should, in my opinion, determine the outcome for Bradley if he departs Anfield in January.

Chris Gallagher

This would be a good signing for Middlesbrough.

It was apparent in October that Boro would need a right-back in the New Year, when Tommy Smith was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Dijksteel is a reliable performer, but he has missed too many games, and whilst van den Berg is an exciting talent, it’s not his natural position. So, if they can bring in Bradley, there’s no reason why he can’t make the right-back slot his own for the final months of the campaign.

Anyone who saw him for Bolton last season will recognise that Bradley is a good player, and he should be able to cope with the demands of the Championship.

So, it’s one Boro should push to get done, and it would be a coup if they could land the Northern Ireland international.
