XFL Could Land Toronto Argonauts in 2023

The Toronto Argonauts have made significant moves in their roster, notably signing Canadian kicker Lirim Hajrullahu while parting ways with Boris Bede, as announced on Monday.

Farhan Lalji, TSN Football Insider, revealed on Sunday that Bede is poised to join the Edmonton Elks following his release from the Argos. Bede conveyed his farewell to the team through social media channels during the weekend.

Lirim Hajrullahu, aged 33, marks his return to the Argos for a second tenure, previously serving the team during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. His journey also includes stints with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2018 and 2019, along with experiences in the NFL playing for the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, and Dallas Cowboys, where he participated in a total of four games.

On the other hand, Boris Bede, aged 34, concludes a three-season stint with the Argonauts, showcasing his proficiency by making 37 out of 39 field goal attempts in 2023. Throughout his seven-year career in the CFL, Bede has also contributed to the Montreal Alouettes.

This reshuffling in the Argonauts’ roster signifies a strategic move aimed at fortifying the team’s composition and addressing their needs for the upcoming season. With Hajrullahu’s return and Bede’s potential transition to the Edmonton Elks, both teams stand to undergo alterations in their dynamics, promising an intriguing development in the Canadian football landscape.
