Treylon Burks had a lot of momentum going into the 2023 campaign.

Then, in August of last year, he had a knee ailment that hindered him during joint workouts with the Vikings in Minnesota.
Burks saw yet another setback in a game against the Steelers later in the season. He was taken off the field that Pittsburgh night due to a concussion, which sidelined him for weeks.
Burks acknowledges that it wasn’t easy looking back on his second NFL season.
Burks stated at the end of the season, “I think the hardest injury I had was my knee, just because of how hard I had trained throughout the offseason.” “But having faith in God, my wife, family, teammates, it made it a lot easier for me to deal with it.”

Burks’ attitude is evident as he gets ready for Year 3.

“Go in, make sure I am taking care of my body, and being on top of the details,” said Burks. “I want to come back, and keep it rolling.”

Burks, who was drafted by the Titans in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, saw action in 11 games in 2023—nine of which he started—and finished with 16 receptions for 221 yards. In his first season in 2022, Burks caught 33 catches for 444 yards and a touchdown.

Titans general manager Ran Carthon and head coach Brian Callahan were questioned about Burks and their future plans at the NFL Combine last week.

Regarding Burks, “the injury thing, the concussion thing, was a real deal,” stated Carthon. We all seen that, I believe, during the Pittsburgh game. These are the kinds of incidents that are difficult to avoid. Although I am aware that Treylon is training with D-Hop (DeAndre Hopkins) and a few other players over the offseason, I believe it will benefit him to observe how other guys prepare for the season and incorporate that into his own game. I’ve watched a few videos of him doing off-season activities, like jogging routes.

Additionally, he isn’t attempting to become healthier throughout this summer. Rather than attempting to regain his health, he could focus on honing his trade.”

Callahan discussed Burks and his prospects.

“I do like some of the traits that Treylon has shown on tape,” Callahan stated. “There are certain aspects that I’m eager to work on. And when it comes to looking after himself and making sure he’s prepared for when we begin, he has to play his role. However, Treylon is a gifted player who still has room for improvement. When Treylon enters the building, I’m looking forward to what he could have to offer.”

Despite the fact that he is powerless over everything, Burks said he intended to take every precaution to maintain his health.

Burks acknowledged that things haven’t always gone well since joining the NFL, but he is grateful for both the positive and negative situations.

“It’s God’s decision, and you can never go against His plan,” Burks stated. “I am aware of its ups and downs. But I feel fortunate and thankful for it. Simply express gratitude and put in your best effort.

“And just come back healthy next year, and be ready to roll.”
