The Texans have confirmed the recent signings of cornerback Kris Boyd, defensive end Mario Edwards, offensive tackle Charlie Heck, and defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi. While the signings of Edwards, Heck, and Fatukasi had been previously reported, Boyd’s addition is now officially acknowledged.
Boyd’s journey to the Texans began when he joined their practice squad on October 26, eventually earning a spot on the 53-player roster on December 6. During his brief stint with Houston, Boyd appeared in two games but did not record any statistics. Prior to his time with the Texans, Boyd played four games for the Cardinals last season.
Originally drafted by the Vikings in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Boyd spent his first four seasons in the league with Minnesota, accumulating 64 games played with six starts. Despite being a late-round selection, Boyd has managed to carve out a respectable career in the NFL, showcasing his durability and versatility on the field.
In addition to the signings, the Texans also announced the waiver of cornerback Ka’dar Hollman. Hollman, 29, featured in all 17 games for Houston last season, starting one game. He recorded a total of 10 tackles and managed a fumble recovery during his time with the team.
