Salford Red Devils star on why he wants to quit

Salford Red Devils star Oliver Partington is reportedly ready to join rival Super League team.

Oliver Partington, a SALFORD RED DEVILS player, is reportedly set to join a rival Super League club.

According to the French daily L’Independant, the loose forward will play for the Catalans Dragons starting in 2025. Partington, who is only 25 years old, has established himself as one of the Super League’s most dependable back-rowers since making his debut with the Wigan Warriors in 2018.

Partington made 92 appearances for Wigan, scoring five tries before moving on to pastures new in Salford. Since then, the 25-year-old has made over 20 appearances for the Red Devils, cementing his place as one of Paul Rowley’s most dependable players. However, it appears that his time at Salford Community Stadium is soon to an end, with L’Independant announcing a transfer merry-go-round to Catalans. Tom Johnstone, Mike McMeeken (both Wakefield Trinity) and Tom Davies (Hull KR) are slated to leave the Stade Gilbert Brutus, while St Helens winger Tommy Makinson is due to join Steve McNamara’s side.
