Salford Red Devils exploring transfer market for major signings

Paul Rowley resigns as coach of Leigh Centurions | Rugby League News | Sky Sports

With the council becoming the exclusive owner of the Salford Red Devils’ stadium, the Super League team may be entering a new chapter in its history.

They would benefit financially and have their future secured. Paul Rowley responded as follows when asked if their coach was hoping to sign major Super League players:

That would be like trying to win the national lottery this week. It’s not, I simply continue. Someone wrote me after learning about the stadium, saying, “You know, we can’t waste emotional energy on things that are not in our control.”

Having said that, we are aware of it now, and in terms of the stadium and Nofoaluma’s signing, I believe this has been a very good week for the team. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t receive the outcome today, but overall the week went well, and there isn’t much to be overly depressed about right now.

“Yeah, we’re looking all the time but as I said before in the middle of January there ain’t a lot knocking around, is there?” he continued. They are still seeking for transfers. Therefore, even if we had money, it would be very difficult to spend it. We’re searching constantly, but it’s really challenging.

Super League coach looks ahead to next clash

Following their Super League debut loss to Leeds Rhinos, Paul Rowley anticipated their matchup with the Castleford Tigers, a battle between two clubs expected to struggle:

Since we again projected 11th, I believe Castleford anticipated 10th. Isn’t that how it’s put up? Additionally, Cas will be aiming his gun at both us and them, just like any other. I believe there are a lot of good things about the Super League right now. Every team, in my opinion, is genuinely attempting to disprove assumptions or meet standards. The elite teams are under pressure. Based on what you can see from the Sky commentary and other sources, Rowan appears to be under pressure. Every team has performed admirably, and Rohan has done a fantastic job thus far.

“I believe he has developed a really strong side, and as I previously stated, I believe the game was played in a decent manner. I respect our lead to return to the business, and that is all I’m concerned about today. We’ll work to salvage some of this, polish up some of the areas where we fell short, and get ready for Castleford—who will undoubtedly be hungry as always, along with another coach who is new to the position—but we’ll approach every challenge with mutual respect and put in a lot of preparation.”
