Sad news: Two Washington commanders key players dies in car crash…..

Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz knows a thing or two about what it takes for a quarterback to win the Super Bowl, and is already blown away by what he’s seen from rookie Jayden Daniels.

Ertz won a Super Bowl ring with the Philadelphia Eagles, as Carson Wentz played his way into the MVP conversation for the first 15 weeks of that season before suffering a torn ACL and giving way to Nick Foles who eventually hoisted the Lombardi the following February.

Through a spring’s worth of OTA practices and several weeks of training camp, Ertz is optimistic about his new quarterback, and the No. 2 overall pick in this spring’s NFL Draft.

“A lot of times you talk about rookies like, ‘This guy is going to be good.’ Jayden is good now,” Ertz told JP Finley of NBC 4 in Washington, D.C.

The Heisman Trophy winner out of LSU lands in the nation’s capital after passing for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns to just four interceptions during his final collegiate season in Baton Rouge last fall.

Daniels’ presence, combined with the likes of Ertz, Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Austin Ekeler in his supporting cast spark optimism that the Commanders can become a surprise contender during the 2024 season.

“It’s really what he sees, and I’m trying to learn his perspective,” Ertz said. “I’ve got to be able to play on his timing, play on his speed, and get open.”
