A draw was probably a fair result as Newcastle United and Manchester City shared the points at St James’ Park.
Josko Gvardiol had given City the lead with a brilliantly taken goal after finishing from a Jack Grealish pass, but the Magpies drew level thanks to Anthony Gordon’s penalty in the second half.
City had chances to score in the second half but were unable to find a way to break down Newcastle’s strong backline.
