SAD NEWS: Crystal Palace encounters another injury setback following Olise and Guehi as a ‘top player’ faces a setback.

Crystal Palace are optimistic Marc Guehi will only miss maximum of three weeks after he limped off with worrying knee injury in defeat against Brighton | Daily Mail Online

After losing to Brighton, Crystal Palace had a terrible few days as Marc Guehi and Michael Olise sustained injuries.

After Crystal Palace turned down loan proposals for him last week, young winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has resumed training and may be a viable replacement for Olise.

Roy Hodgson, 21, has encountered an additional issue as a result of a setback in his recuperation.

With Olise out of the picture, the young player—who Palace supporters have been clamouring for to be included in the starting lineup—might have been chosen far more than Jeffrey Schlupp or Will Hughes.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi suffers injury blow

Rak-Sakyi was trying to increase his fitness with Palace’s under-21 team, and he started in their Premier League Cup triumph against Ipswich yesterday night, according to a report from The Standard.

A serious setback for the young player occurred when the winger, who had begun the attack on the left side, was forced off due to an injury and was unable to return.

Given the other injuries on the senior team, it’s uncertain how long he will be out for again, and this would have been the ideal chance to give him a go.

Would Hodgson have used Rak-Sakyi?

Hodgson has come under fire for both his repeated refusal to believe in the young players in his team and his tendency to blame them for losses.

At first, it was unfortunate that Rak-Sakyi’s loan move was prevented since it didn’t seem likely that the manager, who was under pressure, would have given him a chance. But with Olise and Eberechi Eze both hurt, it’s possible that his hand was forced.

Rak-Sakyi is an exceptional young talent that Guehi referred to as a “top player” earlier in the season. Even though he should have a chance if he gets healthy quickly, Olise’s absence and Palace’s bad play could put a lot of pressure on him.
