Reports have emerged indicating that Garwey Dual, a player for Providence College’s basketball team, is poised to enter the NCAA transfer portal. According to sources at 24/7 Sports, Dual, a 6-foot-4 point guard who was ranked 47th overall in the 2023 recruiting class, has made the decision to pursue this course of action. Additionally, The Field of 68 has corroborated this information, asserting that Dual will not be returning to the Friars. The site has indicated that the 6-5 guard, who is recognized for his considerable potential, is currently contemplating either transferring to another program or declaring for the NBA Draft. However, it appears that no definitive choice has been made at this time.

During his freshman season, Dual posted statistics averaging 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. Despite this relatively modest output, he remains a player of significant interest due to his perceived talent and potential for growth. Notably, Dual was embroiled in a contentious incident in November during a game against Kansas State. In a tense overtime period, Dual was involved in a physical altercation that led to his ejection from the game, alongside another player from Kansas State. The incident occurred when Dual struck a Kansas State player in the face during a dead-ball situation, prompting the referees to issue both players with flagrant fouls and subsequent ejections.

As Dual contemplates his future in basketball, these developments mark a significant moment in his career. Whether he ultimately decides to pursue opportunities in another college program or explores the possibility of entering the NBA Draft, it is evident that Dual’s journey in basketball is poised to take a new and potentially transformative direction.
