REPORT:Rich Eisen selects an unexpected NFL sleeper squad for the upcoming campaign.

This offseason, the Tennessee Titans suffered a total regime shift in addition to a major personnel overhaul.

The Titans signed running back Tony Pollard, receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, center Lloyd Cushenberry, cornerbacks L’Jarius Sneed and Chidobe Awuzie in free agency, and selected offensive tackle JC Latham and defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat. In addition to appointing former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as head coach, the team also added his father Bill, who is widely considered as possibly the best offensive line coach in the NFL, to the team.

Rich Eisen of NFL Network has selected the Titans as his best sleeper team for the 2024 season due to these factors.

“The wide receiver room, people, this guy Brian Callahan is from the (coaching) McVey tree, Calvin Ridley, [DeAndre Hopkins], and Tyler Boyd,” Eisen remarked. “The running game is going to be garbage, and I know everyone thinks Derrick Henry is gone, but don’t sleep on Tyjae Spears and Pollard.” Though I’m not sure if they’ll win the division, I believe they’ll perform better than you anticipate.

Eisen might be right.

After all, Tennessee dropped seven games by a single touchdown the previous season, and one might argue the club was just a few plays from missing the postseason as opposed to being abandoned.

After the Titans’ 6-11 campaign the previous season, the team fired head coach Mike Vrabel and installed Callahan, a coach who is more offensively forward-thinking. Additionally, the team increased its investment in offensive skill players and assembled a formidable supporting group for second-year quarterback Will Levis.

But the Titans definitely have a task ahead of them. The addition of All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs and the strengthening of their secondary and pass-rush make the Houston Texans the heavy favorites to win the AFC South again.

Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts were each one game away from making the playoffs. This year, both ought to be right in the middle of the competition. If Tennessee wants to participate in 2024, it will face fierce competition in its own division.
