Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers remains optimistic about his performance, emphasizing that there is more to come, especially when discussing his clever goal in the victory against Hibs.

The 28-year-old striker, who hails from Belgium and Nigeria, acknowledges the scrutiny he has faced since joining Rangers from Serie A’s Cremonese in the summer.

Having initially struggled to adapt to life in Glasgow, the striker is now finding his rhythm at Rangers and is gradually justifying the reported £4.5m investment made for his services. In the recent match against Hibs, he scored his seventh Premiership goal of the season, with six of them coming since Philippe Clement joined the club.

Cyriel Dessers: “There’s more to come”

Dessers, speaking after the 3-0 victory where he calmly slotted the ball past David Marshall, expressed his optimism and stated that this is just the beginning. There is a growing admiration for Dessers among fans, and he assured them that he is still on an upward trajectory when asked if there is “more to come,” emphasizing that he is in a continuous process of improvement.

“Absolutely,” Dessers affirmed. “I believe I’ve been developing in recent months, particularly since the arrival of the new manager, and you can observe the progress in my statistics and overall performances.”

“However, I believe there is further improvement ahead, and I aspire to demonstrate that in the upcoming weeks and months.”

Rangers striker ”embraces” Ibrox pressure

In discussions with the media after the victory, Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers also shared his thoughts on the pressure associated with playing for the club. The former Feyenoord striker, whose mental fortitude has been a subject of scrutiny amidst the daily demands of representing Rangers, has transitioned from resisting the pressure to wholeheartedly embracing it as he settles into life in the intense Glasgow environment.
