Report: Rockets Remain Firmly Committed to Guard Despite Some Uncomfortable Sideways Glances.

NBA - Che bella la nuova vita di Dillon Brooks agli Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets chose Jalen Green as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft, and it seems they are not inclined to give up on him despite some speculation. According to a report by Matt Moore of Action Network, despite the noticeable uncertainty surrounding Jalen Green, there is no indication that the team plans to make significant changes to the starting lineup. The Rockets are dedicated to assisting Green in finding his role within a more successful team.

Moore also mentioned that the Rockets are in search of a center, and he pointed out that there’s speculation among some executives about the possibility of trading for Clint Capela of the Atlanta Hawks. This is seen as a potential move given Capela’s familiarity with Houston, having played there for the initial six years of his career.

Possibly teaming up with an impactful center might open up more chances for Green. Despite his commendable production, averaging 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, Green faces challenges with efficiency, shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 32.3 percent from beyond the arc. In his third season in the league, this is the first time he has a genuine opportunity to make it to the postseason.

With a current record of 20-21, the Houston Rockets are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for the last spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament. The team’s strategy in building around Green, and whether this involves making a trade for a prominent big man, could significantly impact its destiny in the 2024 season.
