Every conventional blueblood applied for the AJ Dybantsa sweepstakes. However, only the basketball coaches from UNC and Kansas were included in the five-star prospect’s top seven on Friday.

Put another way, it surprised a lot of people that the 17-year-old rejected both the highly sought-after basketball recruits from Kentucky and Duke.
Despite reclassifying from 2026 back in the fall, Dybantsa, who received about thirty offers during his recruitment, is ranked No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite. He shared his list of finalists on social media. The other candidates are UNC, Kansas, Alabama, Auburn, BYU, Baylor, and Kansas State.
It’s challenging to identify a front-runner at this time. Ultimately, his father told On3’s Joe Tipton that the dynamic forward, who stands six feet nine and weighs 200 pounds, will not be selecting a winner from the bunch until February.
Furthermore, although AJ Dybantsa is considering a few fall visits, he hasn’t yet disclosed any firm dates or locations.
There are now over 20 names on the offer sheet for UNC basketball in 2025. All are still indecisive. And just two have published a list excluding Hubert Davis and his staff, therefore eliminating the Tar Heels.
