Report: Jaguars in trade to sign linebacker

2023 Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football Preview - FantraxHQ

According to reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars are searching the trade market for pass rush assistance. Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles is a player that the Jaguars are interested in dealing for, according to Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated’s Cowboys Country.

Former first-round selection of the Arizona Cardinals, Reddick joined the Eagles in 2022 and has emerged as one of the league’s best pass rushers in recent years. Reddick has amassed 27 sacks, five forced fumbles, and 24 tackles for loss in his two years with the Philadelphia Eagles.
NFL Trade Rumors: Cowboys Interested in Haason Reddick, Would Eagles Trade Him to Division Rival?
However, Reddick was given permission to pursue a trade because the 29-year-old pass rusher will count approximately $21.8 million against the Eagles’ salary limit in 2019 and 2023 first-round pick Nolan Smith is already in the fold.

Dallas and Jacksonville are cited by our source as two teams that are “interested” in moving forward. (We have not verified the rumors that include Detroit, Houston, and New England here.)

Jaguars reportedly interested in trade for Eagles' Haason Reddick

The Jaguars’ clear advantage over the Cowboys in a bidding war is that they play in a different conference from the Eagles, if those are the teams in the running. Teams seldom make deals with division rivals, and Dallas will likely have a difficult time completing a deal with Philadelphia.

The Jaguars have been viewed as a contender for Minnesota Vikings pass rusher Danielle Hunter for the better part of the year. It appears the Jaguars have made inquiries about a number of elite sack artists in addition to that one.
