Pau Torres, starting for Fulham for the first time since winning at Brentford in mid-December, took Diego Carlos’ place because of a hamstring injury.
Ezri Konsa, meantime, may have missed three to four weeks of action due to a knee injury he suffered on February 3rd when he collided with the post during Villa’s 5-0 victory against Sheffield United. Due to injuries, Emery’s only alternatives for senior center backs going into a crucial few weeks at Villa Park are Torres and Clement Lenglet. Their return to the Europa Conference League is scheduled for the first week of March.
