This offseason, the Baltimore Ravens will have to make some decisions about their roster, one of which could be cutting ties with CB Marlon Humphrey. He may play at a high level, but his wage may be too pricey to meet the budget.

His departure would allow general manager Eric DeCosta to try to select a replacement in the 2018 NFL Draft, even though it might not be ideal for the organization in the immediate run.

According to a few sources, the Ravens will select a cornerback with their No. 30 choice in the opening round.

Field Yates of ESPN expects that Baltimore will take Georgia corner Kamari Lassiter, while Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team believes that Ennis Rakestraw Jr. of Mizzou will play. Nate Wiggins of Clemson is rated well by Josh Edwards of CBS Sports as the Ravens’ No. 30 pick.

Any of these selections for Baltimore would be considered aggressive selections, a trait the Ravens are occasionally recognized for in the draft.

Even if Humphrey stays with the Ravens, adding a defensive back early in the draft is a risky but perhaps wise decision for Baltimore.

Humphrey is only two years into a $97.5 million, five-year contract with a $67 million guarantee. However, he was sidelined by an injury last year and only appeared in 10 games. He’s still productive when he’s on the field, but appearing in just over half the games won’t cut it.

After learning that Baltimore might move on, Humphrey was approached by Matthew Judon, a former teammate and current pass rusher for the Ravens.
