Florida State enjoys recruiting football athletes that excel in several other sports. That is the case for a class of 2024 signee and a top 2025 commitment, both of whom put on a display at Thursday’s FHSAA Track & Field State Championship event. Micahi Danzy, a four-star running back signee, won numerous events and finished high in several others, while five-star offensive line commit Solomon Thomas performed admirably in the sole event in which he competed.
Here are the amazing results from that duo of future ‘Noles:
Micahi Danzy ran the 100-meter dash today in 10.68 seconds which was good enough to place second, winning a silver medal at the state championship meet.
Danzy’s personal best in the 100 is 10.61 according to MileSplit.
Danzy’s signature event is the 200-meter dash and he showed us exactly why on Thursday evening when he posted a personal best time of 20.88 seconds to win a state championship.
If that wasn’t good enough, Danzy also won a state title in the 400-meter dash with a 45.88 second time. That’s also a new personal best, beating his old record time of 46.02 seconds.
He medaled in a field event as well, finishing third with a 6.91m jump in the long jump. Micahi Danzy wins the bronze medal in the long jump at the State Championship meet.
Let’s not forget about the big man. Blue-chip offensive line recruit put his strength to the test in the discus event at the state championship on Thursday and threw 49.55m to place second.
That performance is coming off a sophomore campaign last year where he won the state title in the discus with a 51.35m throw.
