Player who played no minutes against the Nuggets receives praise from Mike Brown.

Kings' Mike Brown named 2023 NBA Coach of the Year - CBSSports.com

Mike Brown and the Sacramento Kings defeated the Denver Nuggets 102-98 on Wednesday night to secure their place in the NBA’s All-Star break.

However, the second player that Brown picked out for praise in his post-game news conference didn’t even play a minute.

“We recently inked Mason Jones to a two-way contract. Despite not playing at all on Wednesday, Brown had a significant impact on the game, according to Brown. “He had incredible enthusiasm coming off the bench. Every timeout, he’s racing past me, giving folks high fives, and chatting to guys while the game is going on, all before I’ve had a chance to take three steps on the court. It was amazing for him to bring that kind of excitement because our group is generally quiet.

Brown continued by saying that his son Elijah, a video coordinator with the Kings, had contacted him to let him know that Mason Jones’ enthusiasm could be seen on TV.

“I am aware that our coaches, the players, and I all felt it. Therefore, in a game when we could have easily folded, his intensity was wonderful for us, according to Brown.

Who is Mason Jones?

Earlier this year, Jones inked a two-way contract with the Kings. In slightly under 30 minutes a game this season, he has averaged 13.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists while playing for the Stockton Kings. In addition, he ranks among the top-15 in assists and leads the G League in three-point field goal percentage.

Jones was not selected in the 2020 NBA Draft, but he has since moved around the league, suiting up for the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Philadelphia 76ers.
