Following the tragic shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade that left one person dead and almost two dozen injured, Travis Kelce has spoken out.

Along with his brother Jason, the Chiefs tight end posted a message on social media on Monday afternoon in advance of the latest installment of their New Heights podcast.

Travis stated, “We had a pre-recorded episode for you guys coming up on Wednesday, but it didn’t feel right without you guys hearing from us first after the tragic events of the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City.”

We adore you, Chiefs Kingdom and Kansas City. We’ll see you guys shortly, and we’re with you guys.

The brothers urged supporters to contribute to an emergency fund that will benefit victims, their families, first responders, and programs for mental health and violence prevention.

”We also wish to express our gratitude to the local law enforcement for acting quickly”. According to Jason Kelce

Shortly after the protest, gunmen opened fire, sending terrified procession participants running for their lives.

Following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally, Kelce matched girlfriend Taylor Swift’s $100,000 donation to the victims of last week’s shooting.

Two $50,000 gifts from his charity, the Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation, which supports “underserved youth strive to become productive citizens,” are displayed on a GoFundMe page.

Friends of the Reyes family, whose two young girls were injured in the incident, created the GoFundMe campaign. Swift, on the other hand, gave money to Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan’s family, who lost her life in the incident.

Following the shooting, Kelce faced backlash for his partying, which led to the gift.

Only hours after tragedy happened, Kelce was one of the Chiefs stars who continued with a “scaled down” celebration.

We merely wanted to express our condolences to each and every victim, their families, Chiefs Kingdom, and the people of Kansas City who truly turned out on a day intended to honor the community. The circumstances that transpired are regrettable and quite awful,’ stated Jason.

We also like to express our gratitude to the first responders, local law police, and everyone else who was willing to assist people impacted by this tragedy.

‘One of the things that’s clear is how much Kansas City is coming together, rallying around the individuals touched by tragedy,’ Eagles center Jason continued.

“And one of the lovely things about producing this podcast is the amazing community that exists out there—the “92 per percent,” everyone who tunes in to this program, etc.”

Additionally, Travis and Jason Kelce disclosed that they are now ‘figuring out’ how to participate in the fundraising and support initiatives.

“We’re trying to set that up right now, but we plan on doing something in the future,” stated Jason.

Spending time with his pals closer to home seems to be Travis’ preference rather than rushing to board an aircraft to see his girlfriend Taylor Swift in Australia.

The 34-year-old Kansas City player laughed a lot with a friend as they played golf virtually for four hours on Sunday in Parkville, Missouri, which is just thirty miles from his Kansas home.

The avid golfer maintained a serious expression as he and former Chief tight end Ross Travis carried their clubs to the indoor facility, X-Golf. Later, as seen in photos exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com, they were observed departing with takeout boxes.

Taking the wheel of his electric Hummer, Kelce loaded up the pickup truck’s back with their gear, balls, and other belongings.
