Carlins Platel weighs 194 pounds and is six feet one inch tall. The Everett, Massachusetts native, 24, was a member of the Philadelphia Stars (USFL) in 2023 but did not participate in any games.

After recording five tackles—four solo and one assist—in three preseason games with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2023, Platel joined them before joining Philadelphia.

In his three seasons as a collegiate player at Assumption University (2017–19), Platel recorded 96 total tackles (69 solo, 27 assists), two tackles for loss, one sack, 37 pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and three punt returns for 14 yards for the Greyhounds in 33 games.

After racking up 41 tackles (28 solo, 13 assisted), one tackle for loss, three interceptions for 72 yards, one touchdown, 11 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 13 games, he was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team in 2017.

After recording 29 tackles (21 solo, 8 assisted), one tackle for loss, one sack, two interceptions, 18 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and three 14-yard punt returns, he was then named to the First Team All-NE10 in 2019.

In 12 games, he finished with 21 tackles (15 solo, 6 assisted), 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles before transferring to South Carolina in 2022.

Platel participated in track and football at Everett High School. Playing in the MIAA Division 1 Championship game versus Xaverian, he led the team with six interceptions in 2016 and was nominated to the First Team All-State.
