When it comes to signing players, the Houston Texans have a number of important choices to make this offseason. The Texans have a lot of money to spend, but they will probably have to choose between replacing their three important players through free agency and the draft or keeping their 2023 player. Making this decision will not be simple, therefore we’re relieved that we are not the ones who must make it.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans discussed the possibility of keeping a number of important players, including defensive end Jonathan Greenard, tight end Dalton Schultz, and running back Devin Singletary, in a statement to the media during the NFL Combine.

In spite of the fact that the Texans rank near the bottom in all rushing metrics, Singletary gives the squad a legitimate running offense. Schultz was one of the team’s greatest run blocks and played a key role in the passing game. Following a spectacular season, Greenard led the Texans in sacks, and many are hoping he can replicate this magic in the upcoming campaign.

When discussing Greenard with the media (via Sports Illustrated), Ryans stated:

“He produced a lot, and his play was physically demanding. He completed the tasks that we required of him. We adore JG, but we’ll see how free agency pans out. We were really pleased with his work this year.”

Ryans stated (via Sports Illustrated) regarding Schultz;

“He arrived and made several huge catches for us. Dalton’s free agency situation will be interesting to watch, but I’m proud of what he accomplished for us last season.”

Lastly, Ryans stated the following regarding Singletary (via Sports Illustrated);

“Just because of what Devin gave to our squad, we would really love to have him back. In that rushing back room, he was undoubtedly a shining light for us.”

In my opinion, all three men ought to come back. Even so, there are different levels of that. Out of the three, Schultz appears to be the most deserving of his new contract because he is dependable, competent, and has experience. Although Greenard should be worth every penny, there are legitimate worries that he will only be a one-year wonder. It would be fantastic to have Singletary back as a backup for a player like Saquon Barkley.

However, money will play a significant role in the decision-making process in addition to fit and position.
