Norwich City invite manager to training field as deal becomes closer – sources.

Norwich City conducted talks with a managerial candidate at the club’s training facility on Friday as they seek a new manager, according to Football Insider. The Canaries are in the midst of finding a new manager for 2024-25 after firing David Wagner just hours after losing the Championship play-off against Leeds United.

According to Football Insider on Friday (24 May), Johannes Hoff Thorup is in pole position to be appointed at Norwich City after his work permit was issued.But the club is still consulting with other managers before making a final decision.

The 35-year-old FC Nordsjaelland boss did not qualify for an automatic endorsement but the Championship outfit have now cleared the path for his potential appointment.

Nevertheless, sources have now told Football Insiderthat Norwich invited a manager contender to the club’s training ground on Friday (24 May) to hold discussions about a deal.

The club are hoping to wrap up a new managerial appointment with their preferred choice soon.

As well as Thorup, it is understood that Norwich have held talks with Will Still who recently left his role at Ligue 1 side Reims shortly before the end of the season.

An appointment early into the summer would provide the new manager with time to settle into new surroundings before the opening of the transfer window on June 14.
