NEWS UPDATE: Prominent Bruins Forward Up against Possible Scratch

This forward for the Bruins might be seated opposite the Panthers.

The Bruins’ practice yesterday, March 26, generated a lot of discussion among supporters. After the squad did not perform well in a drill and seemed to be frustrated, head coach Jim Montgomery forced the team run sprints.

Montgomery’s annoyance was the main topic of discussion throughout yesterday’s session, but there was also another noteworthy development. During it, James van Riemsdyk was the additional forward. JVR will be a noticeable scratch if this is the starting lineup for the Bruins’ game against the Florida Panthers tonight, March 26. Of course, that might alter at any time. After missing a few games due to illness, Van Riemsdyk made his way back into the game against the Philadelphia Flyers in the Bruins’ most recent encounter. But judging on the lines from the previous practice, it looks like he might miss at least one more game.

Towards the end, van Riemsdyk has become extremely distant. The 34-year-old winger’s last 15 appearances have seen just one assist since February 19. He had four goals and eight points in his previous seven games prior to this.

JVR needs to get back to his old self for the Bruins, especially now that the season is so close to ending. Hopefully, if he does wind up scratched, it will serve as a wake-up call and help him recover. Considering how well he has performed for the most of the season, he could heat up.
