NEWS UPDATE: HAAS F1 CONFIRMS THE CONTRACT OF 19-YEAR OLD BRITISH RACING DRIVER

Oliver Bearman Does Not Need to Rush Into F1

Oliver Bearman has committed to a Haas deal. With a signed contract at Haas, Bearman will be the fourth British driver on the Formula 1 grid in 2024, according to the Daily Mail.

On Friday, Ayao Komatsu already seemed to slip up slightly. The Haas team boss let slip that they intend to announce the line-up for 2025 soon and are going for a combination of youth and experience. Bearman, who will see six free practice runs in action for Haas in 2024, had been linked for some time.

Bearman on his way to F1

According to the British outlet, Bearman has already secretly signed a deal that gives him a spot on the F1 grid in 2025. Bearman would start earning between £250k and £300k for a year at Haas. However, with good performance in year one, that amount could double in the second F1 season.

Bearman’s spell at Ferrari in particular has left a good impression on Haas and Ferrari. Bearman is also a Ferrari junior and so Haas could potentially get a ‘discount’ on the Ferrari engine for 2025 if it gives Bearman a place in F1.
