Marti Cifuentes praised QPR man following Sunderland’s draw, saying, “He’s very important.”

Sinclair Armstrong is a “very important” player for QPR, according to manager Marti Cifuentes, as they aim to stay up this season.

In their most recent Championship match, QPR drew 0-0 away at Sunderland.

West London Sport reported that Cifuentes stated the following after the game: “He can get tired sometimes when he starts, but when he comes on as a sub, he has a great impact, especially against defensive lines that try to play higher up the pitch.”

“I believe he performed admirably and had a significant impact on the games. He can attack and moves quickly, which makes him incredibly valuable.

QPR man lauded

Armstrong is a useful stand-in who offers QPR a unique attacking element.

He is a valuable asset for the Hoops because of his quickness and strength, which provide challenges to opposing defences.

With just one cap under his belt, the Republic of Ireland international has made 32 appearances for the London club this season across all competitions, scoring four goals.

Although Armstrong’s contract with the R’s expires at the end of this season, they have the option to sign him for an additional year. His prospects of sticking around will probably rely on the league the team plays in the following season.

After playing for Shamrock Rovers and Cherry Orchard, he signed with QPR back in 2020.

Prior to making his debut in the main squad in 2022, the attacker gained some experience on early loan stints with non-league teams Torquay United and Aldershot Town.

Armstrong is a fantastic addition to the team and will be essential before their next games, as Cifuentes has hinted.

With eight games remaining, the Hoops are one point above the drop zone in 20th position in the standings.

Following the international break, they will resume play at home against Birmingham City, who are currently ranked 21st.
