Roy Hodgson has 'simplified everything' at Crystal Palace - BBC Sport

After being questioned about whether he will take Roy Hodgson’s position at Crystal Palace, Kieran McKenna has now reacted.

The remarks were delivered by the 37-year-old on Friday during his news conference.

So, in response to a question on the Crystal Palace job, what did Kieran McKenna say? Let’s examine this.

Kieran McKenna responds to Crystal Palace rumours

Well, a lot of rumours regarding the 37-year-old started to surface on Friday.

It prompted a supporter of Crystal Palace to question Alan Nixon of The Sun about the veracity of claims that McKenna will succeed Hodgson. Nixon responded simply that there was no validity to the rumours.

The individual has now addressed rumours circulating concerning his future.

According to a report from Suffolk News, McKenna stated: “No, all of my energy and commitment are focused on Ipswich and the upcoming game, as well as the current season.”

To be honest, I don’t give it any thought. In the past few years, this has happened before. It will be there and there will be links if you’re doing well.

Football may also move the other way rather rapidly. I’ll just concentrate on my daily tasks here. I’m honoured and proud to be the manager of this football team, as I’ve stated before. I’m having fun in this role and will keep doing my best.

Roy Hodgson looks set to stay

In football, things can change drastically very rapidly. When Wolves made an approach, Michael Beale at QPR said something quite similar, and he left for Rangers a few days later.

However, McKenna seems to be fully committed to his work at Portman Road, so we doubt he will succeed Hodgson anytime soon.

According to The Times, Steve Cooper and Julen Lopetegui are among the people who have been linked to the Selhurst Park position. However, neither of them is eager to start work in the middle of the season.

It indicates that Hodgson appears destined to stay in charge for the time being at least, despite a dismal record of just two victories in 14 games and a long run of perplexing choices.
