Liam Lawson statement regarding Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the F1 game of 2024.

Max Verstappen, the Dutch driver, received the highest rating in the F1 2024 game. Liam Lawson, Lewis Hamilton, and Max Verstappen (via IMAGO) are the drivers in question. As a reserve driver for the Visa Cash App RB team, Lawson expressed his support for Verstappen’s higher rating compared to the seven-time world champion, Hamilton. Verstappen, who has won three consecutive world championships since 2021, is widely considered one of the best drivers in the sport.

Verstappen’s dominance is evident in his record, having won 50 out of the last 75 races in F1 since his first championship victory in 2021. On the other hand, Hamilton has not proven a victory since the penultimate round of the 2021 season at the Saudi Arabian GP.

Due to his impressive performances, Verstappen received a rating of 96, surpassing Hamilton’s rating of 89 by seven points. Lawson highlighted the reasons behind these ratings, emphasizing Verstappen’s exceptional skills and the competitiveness of his team. He also acknowledges that Hamilton has not had the advantage of a consistently competitive car since 2021. However, Lawson believes that both drivers are highly competitive and it is only a matter of time before they reach a similar level of performance.

Reports suggest that the Visa Cash App RB team is inclined to retain Verstappen for the next season instead of hiring the much-speculated Liam Lawson. The team recently extended Yuki Tsunoda’s contract until 2025, leaving only one seat to be filled in the Red Bull sister team. Although Daniel Ricciardo has not performed exceptionally well for RB, there are rumors that he is still favored over Lawson, who demonstrated his skills as a temporary driver for Ricciardo last season.

A RB will closely evaluate Ricciardo’s performance, which will determine his position within the team for the next season. Meanwhile, Lawson continues to be an exciting talent as a reserve driver, with the possibility of securing a spot on the grid if the 34-year-old Ricciardo continues to underperform.
