JUST IN: Three outstanding 2025 recruits are predicted for the Sooners.

Oklahoma Announces 'White Out' For Season Opener - The Spun: What's Trending In The Sports World Today

On Wednesday, National Signing Day, the SEC-bound Oklahoma football team is expected to select a top-10 2024 recruiting class. And with ten commitments and a top-five class thus far according to two major recruiting organisations, the Sooners are off to a quick start for 2025.

OU’s 2025 class is already looking impressive and is heavy on the offensive side with six offensive players, including three wide receivers and two offensive line prospects. Brent Venables and his staff have been working the recruiting trail hard during the month of January.

However, that does not negate the Sooners’ diligent pursuit of elite defensive targets. Over the course of the last week, Oklahoma was projected to sign five-star safety Jonah Williams from Galveston, Texas, four times. He is the No. 2 linebacker in the state of Texas in the 2025 class and the No. 2 player overall in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite. He plays linebacker in high school. Williams, though, is being recruited by OU to play safety or maybe as the Cheetah.

The Texas Insider and the Texas A&M Insider are two of the four On3 recruiting analysts who made the forecasts for Williams. The latter is the more significant one. In recent years, the Aggies have defeated OU for a number of outstanding defensive players.

Four-star running back Tory Blaylock, who hails from Humble, Texas, in the Greater Houston region, is gaining a lot of national notice. Naturally, there is still a long way to go in this process, but Collin Kennedy of 247Sports predicts that Blaylock will sign with the Sooners in the end.

Blaylock is ranked among the top 160 players overall by 247Sports and as the 12th-best running back in the 2025 class. In the early stages of the recruiting process, Blaylock would be a huge addition to an OU class that is already looking very good. The Sooners do not presently have a running back committed in the 2025 class.

In addition, the Sooners have two crystal ball projections for four-star Pearland, Texas, native and cornerback Cobey Sellers. In the 2025 class, Sellers is ranked among the top-30 players at his position and among the top 150 players overall. The defensive star will go OU, according to Rivals Futurecast, and On3 has made a similar prediction.

However, Oklahoma isn’t the only programme that is interested in Sellers. Additionally, Georgia, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Texas A&M, and LSU have extended offers to him. Sellers is ranked No. 28 among cornerbacks in the 2025 class by Rivals.
