Injury Update: Latest news and expected return date for Gold Coast Titans star

Gold Coast Titans: David Fifita to miss a month of action due to injury

Des Hasler is poised to begin his tenure with the Gold Coast Titans against St George Illawarra on March 9. However, they may be missing star backrower David Fifita for an extended period as the 23-year-old continues his recovery from off-season surgery.

The latest injury news regarding Gold Coast Titans star David Fifita indicates that both he and Jayden Campbell are unlikely to return until at least round four or five, according to the club’s assistant, Jim Lenihan, as reported by AAP.

“They haven’t participated in any team training sessions yet. Dave returned to training this week and will require a significant amount of training before he is match-fit.” Fifita underwent surgery for a pectoral muscle injury during the off-season and has been sidelined since December.

He will not be part of the team for the opening Pre-Season Challenge match against the Dolphins and is unlikely to play the following week against Parramatta in the final game of the tournament.

Lenihan explained, “It’s a long season, and there is no need to rush them back a week or two earlier. Their injuries will determine their availability.”

What is the expected return date for David Fifita with the Titans?

After the Titans kick off their NRL season against the Dragons at home, they will have a bye in Round 2. Following that, they will face the Bulldogs and the Dolphins, with a game against the Cowboys in Townsville slated for early April. This is the game earmarked for the potential returns of Fifita and Campbell.
