“I’m happy here at Salford” – Paul Rowley discloses the major factor in rejecting Hull FC.

Paul Rowley’s frantic week came to a conclusion yesterday. Salford Red Devils narrowly overcame Warrington Wolves, and the 49-year-old has now divulged details about that tumultuous week. It was a week that included everything. To begin, Rowley appeared to be taking over at Hull FC. The two teams apparently agreed on a transfer fee for Rowley to complete the move. However, Rowley declined the offer. The Black and Whites now look to the NRL for their next head coach. Rowley has now spoken out about his decision to reject Hull and why he chose to stay at Salford. Rowley believes the club is on the verge of accomplishing something great together.

Paul Rowley happy at Salford Red Devils

Paul Rowley explained his choice during his post-game press conference. He indicated that pleasure was his primary motivator for continuing with the Red Devils. “I believe the simplest way to explain it is that two clubs made a courteous, adult decision, and that was the extent of it. “They and I came to the conclusion that I’m happy, I value happiness and we left it at that.”

“There’s nothing more to say really” , Rowley said. “It was respect both clubs respectful obviously and good and professional so that’s good.” When asked if it was his decision to stay at Salford, Rowley replied, “We didn’t get that far down the line.”

Salford “got the rewards they deserve”

For Paul Rowley, yesterday’s victory was a reminder of why he got into coaching. Rowley said, “Ultimately my job is to coach and that’s what I enjoy doing and the best bit about coaching is the group that I represent, the group that I work with, staff and players. So when you get a reward at the end of a week… there’s nothing better you know.

The game was marred by a serious injury to young Warrington star, Leon Hayes but Salford found a way to win against one of Super League’s top sides. Rowley believes it is now key now to get too carried away by the win.

“It’s not like we’re backflipping or getting ahead of ourselves, you know, we’ll remain very humble always and respectful. However it’s satisfying and you know we’ll enjoy a little bit of time together now, we’ll all go together for maybe a beer or a cup of tea, whatever it is.

“But it’s just satisfying and rewarding that when you work hard, you get rewards. And I just think it’s fitting that the lads get the rewards that they deserve.”
