been a good season for Nick Martinez, but over the last two months he’s been even better than earlier in the season. In his last 12 games he’s posted a 3.14 ERA while throwing 43.0 innings. He has struggled in two of the last three outings, though, giving up 11 earned runs in 12.2 innings while opponents have hit five home runs against him.
The splits aren’t very big for Martinez when it comes to batter handedness. Lefties are ever so slightly better across the board, giving them an 26 point advantage in OPS. The big splits come when he’s at home versus the road. Martinez has an ERA of 4.62 at home (2.74 on the road) and his OPS against at home is .818 (.558 on the road).
