Guardiola believes the “creative” coach West Ham has been looking for is a fantastic leader.

One “creative” manager has long been coveted by West Ham United, and it’s thought he’d be open to moving to England.

West Ham is considering Moyes’ options in light of their expiring contract.

David Moyes, the current head coach, is under criticism once more after the Hammers’ winless start to 2024 caused them to fall farther in the league standings.

Significant losses to teams like Arsenal and Manchester United haven’t helped Moyes’ situation either, as some fans feel he’s brought the team as far as they can. Moyes has faced criticism from these followers.

Under Moyes, West Ham won the UEFA Europa Conference League title in Prague last season, their first major trophy in almost 40 years, but they also had a domestic relegation threat to the Championship.

Since the summer of 2022, their league performance has been lacking, and Moyes almost lost his job at West Ham last year. Given that Moyes’s contract appears to be due to expire at the end of this season, there have been numerous reports that West Ham is looking at other managers in addition to Moyes.

“I can confirm that the club are looking at alternative options,” stated club insider ExWHUemployee this week.

“Tim Steidten is the man heavily involved and leading the potential drive to replace Moyes, should he depart. There have been various names mentioned in the press, however at this stage its very early, with the club still hoping David Moyes turns the situation around. The club though are, and rightly so, planning ahead should the manager depart.”

A few candidates have already been mentioned in relation to the possibly open position, but Thomas Tuchel, the manager of Bayern Munich, stands out as he has now officially announced his departure this summer.

The 50-year-old, who led Chelsea to victory in the Champions League in 2021, hasn’t exactly had the finest time in Bavaria as they trail Bayer Leverkusen by a significant margin in the Bundesliga standings.

It would be Tuchel’s first championship loss since Borussia Dortmund defeated them in the 2012 German Bundesliga final.

West Ham has “long-standing” interest in Tuchel, who is willing to moving to England.

This week, The Daily Mail and journalist Sami Mokbel reported that West Ham had a “long-standing” interest in Tuchel and that the German player is reportedly keen to returning to England.

But, Liverpool and other teams have been mentioned as possible candidates for Tuchel, so the Hammers could not be the only team looking to hire a new head coach this summer.

The former PSG manager is a well-known figure, and Pep Guardiola of Man City has already showered him with accolades.

“He’s so creative with good build-up and connection, good runners and players who are good in the spaces,” said Guardiola on Tuchel before their Champions League final clash in 2021.

“Both [Tuchel and Nagelsmann] are so creative with the shape they play.”
