Salford Red Devils 34-4 London Broncos: Hosts return to top six after tough win. Quickfire tries from Deon Cross and Nene MacDonald early in the second half blew the game open, with late scores from Tim Lafai twice and Shane Wright extending the score.
Salford got back into the top six with a 34-4 victory over Super League bottom boys London Broncos, but the final score belied the battle they fought for much of the day. Quick tries from Deon Cross and Nene MacDonald early in the second half opened the game up, and late touchdowns from Tim Lafai twice and Shane Wright expanded the lead before Hakim Miloudi’s late reply.
However, London had frustrated Paul Rowley’s side throughout the first half, with the Broncos scoring two of the three disallowed tries, leaving only Sam Stone’s try to separate the sides at halftime.
A home game against the league’s worst team provided Salford with an opportunity to reduce their negative points differential, but they required a late burst to win in a gritty affair.
The Red Devils thought they had the breakthrough in the 15th minute when MacDonald hauled in a high kick and touched down, but Oli Partington was offside.
