Good News: Running back finally commits to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Kentucky Wildcats have experienced a setback with a decommitment in their 2025 recruiting class. Isaiah West, a running back, has withdrawn his commitment from Kentucky, as reported by 247 Sports on Monday. This decision follows West’s recent visit to Ohio State, which has led to a 247 Sports prediction favoring the Buckeyes for the 4-star prospect. Despite his current plans to officially visit Kentucky on June 7th and Ohio State on June 14th, his decommitment has raised concerns.

West, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 208 pounds, hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He initially received an offer from Kentucky in December and committed to the Wildcats in March. His decision at the time was influenced by offers from other prominent programs, including Wisconsin, Penn State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan State, and several others. However, the recent involvement of Ohio State has shifted the dynamics.

Ranked as high as 204th overall in the 2025 class by 247 Sports, West is also recognized as the sixth-best player in Pennsylvania, a state known for its strong football talent. His decommitment illustrates the competitive nature of college football recruiting, especially when dealing with top-tier programs.

Kentucky’s challenge now lies in navigating this loss and continuing to compete with other major programs for top recruits.
