Senior enforcer Isaac Liu is optimistic about the Titans’ chances against top teams in the 2024 season, attributing their strength in the forward pack as a crucial factor in their potential success. Under the guidance of new coach Des Hasler, who has made it clear that no positions are guaranteed, the competition for spots in the engine room has intensified during the final stages of pre-season training at Parkwood.

Drawing from his experience of winning three premierships with the Roosters in 2013, 2018, and 2019, Liu embraces the competition for positions, recognizing the depth of talent within the Titans squad. This depth gives the team confidence to compete with the top teams in the competition, as they strive to field their best players on the field.

Liu is particularly excited about the addition of Keenan Palasia to the forward pack, alongside established players like Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, David Fifita, and Moeaki Fotuaika. Palasia’s early performances in training have impressed Liu, and he looks forward to seeing how the former Bronco can contribute to the team.

Beau Fermor, who returns to action after recovering from an ACL injury, also acknowledges the team’s depth in the forwards, expressing confidence in the bench options like Jimmy Jolliffe and Keenan Palasia. Fermor is eager to play alongside his talented teammates and believes that the Titans do not lose momentum when substitutes enter the field.

As the Titans prepare for trial matches against the Dolphins and the Eels, the competition for positions remains fierce. Hasler’s selections for the upcoming games will provide insight into how the team’s depth will be utilized throughout the season.
