West Ham have reportedly set their sights on Charlton Athletic youngster Miles Leaburn.

This comes after recent transfer speculation that Chelsea also like the 20-year-old striker.

Miles Leaburn, who’s impressing this season for League One club Charlton, previously played in Chelsea’s academy as a youngster before leaving in 2019.

Now, there’s rumours that he could be making his way to the Premier League.

Chelsea interest

The Daily Mail reported in October that Chelsea have an interest in re-signing Leaburn from Charlton.

He’s been in good form so far this season, scoring seven goals and making three assists in 18 games across all competitions.

Described as “fantastic” by former Charlton manager Ben Garner (South London Press), Leaburn is an emerging talent in the third tier. Is he ready to make quiet a sizeable jump on the ladder yet, though?

His profile as an exciting youngster certainly ticks a lot of boxes when you consider the transfer strategy under this ownership at Stamford Bridge.

Miles Leaburn wanted by West Ham

TEAMtalk has claimed this week that West Ham are monitoring Charlton’s rising star Leaburn.

It is explained that David Moyes’ side are watching the striker with a view to making transfer move to take him to the London Stadium.

The report says that Charlton hope they can do enough to keep the player, but West Ham are taking a good look at talents in the Football League that they believe can make the step up.

In fairness, a route into West Ham’s first-team squad may be easier than Chelsea because it’s very overcrowded with youngsters on the latter’s books.
