Roy Hodgson, the manager of Crystal Palace, has emphasised that supporters who are attacking Steve Parish and the club’s board should have their memories refreshed.

Hodgson watched as his team suffered a crushing 4-1 loss on the road at Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, marking yet another step backward for them.

Due to their extreme dissatisfaction with the way the club is being managed, several Palace supporters have erected banners criticising the chairman Parish and the board of the club.

Hodgson believes the criticism is unjustified and that, in light of Parish’s contributions to the team, critical supporters’ memories should be jogged. He also believes that the club’s Premier League standing is crucial.

When questioned about the banners criticising the club’s board, Hodgson told Sky Sports, “I think Steve Parish has done a fantastic job for the club.”

“Memories ought to be cultivated in people. Before he arrived, the club was in terrible shape.

“They brought us into the Premier League and turned them around.” The club is still open and actively defending its location.

“I am not the one to discuss the ownership and structure of the club.

“As someone who works for Steve Parish and the club, I personally believe it is extremely harsh that people are blaming him for our loss to Brighton by putting banners in that manner.”

Hodgson is still under pressure at Crystal Palace as a result of Selhurst Park’s ongoing dismal performance.

Since their visit to struggling Burnley at the beginning of November, Palace has not won a game away from home.
