End of an era: head coach is fired by the team management due to….

One of the top young high school football prospects in the state of Kentucky was back on Louisville’s campus last weekend.

Scott County High School athlete Timmy Emongo visited the 502 BBQ with about 75 other prospects. He attended the event on Friday, spent some time with the coaching staff, and was able to just hang out around the program.

“It went really well,” Emongo told Cardinal Authority. “It was amazing being able to talk to Coach (Chris) Barclay and the rest of the staff. They are focused on growing a connection and trying to get their 2027 class going here soon. I could be a big part of that success.”

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Emongo has been on campus several times, including for a spring practice and the spring game.

Emongo posted some impressive statistics as a freshman for Scott County and has already started picking up some college interest. Emongo’s first offer came from Eastern Kentucky and then in late January he landed his first Power Five offer from Louisville. He has since landed offers from Kentucky, Kent State, and Miami of Ohio.

An athlete who can play both sides of the ball, Emongo said he had a good chat with U of L head coach Jeff Brohm back in January.

“I talked to Coach Brohm and he was very thankful that I was able to come,” Emongo said. “College football is an amazing thing. I am very blessed to be in this position.”
