Draft picks that Jaguars hold ahead of free agency

What is the number of picks the Jaguars have now that the compensatory draft picks are official?

The Jacksonville Jaguars know exactly what sort of draft ammunition they carry going into free agency now that the compensatory picks for the 2024 NFL Draft are announced.

Right now, the Jaguars have nine selections available:

  • No. 17 (1st)
  • No. 48 (2nd)
  • No. 96 (3rd, comp)
  • No. 113 (4th)
  • No. 115 (4th)
  • No. 152 (5th)
  • No. 192 (6th)
  • No. 212 (6th, comp)
  • No. 236 (7th)

The Jacksonville Jaguars were initially set to select No. 79 in the third round; however, due to conditional trade agreements, the pick will now go to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for Calvin Ridley.

The No. 48 pick would be sent to the Falcons and the No. 79 pick would remain in the Jaguars’ possession if Ridley signs a contract extension with them before March 13.

“Well, whether it’s a second or third round, we’re not really worried about that. We will just work with the player to reach a consensus, regardless of whether the pay changes or not. It will stay the same. At the NFL Scouting Combine last week, Trent Baalke, general manager of the Jaguars, stated, “We’re more focused on the player.”

This week’s acquisition of two compensatory draft picks by the Jaguars ended a 13-year run in which the team was devoid of such selections. Jawaan Taylor signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, earning the Jaguars the highest compensatory pick in the league. In the meanwhile, the Jaguars were awarded a sixth-round compensatory pick following the offseason loss of Arden Key to the Tennessee Titans.
