The Texans have bolstered their defensive lineup by signing Marcus Haynes, a former Denver Broncos defensive end, to a reserve-future deal. Haynes, who went undrafted out of Old Dominion, initially joined the Broncos’ practice squad after failing to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.

During his time with the Broncos, Haynes showcased his skills in three preseason games, accumulating five tackles and deflecting one pass. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 240 pounds, he proved to be a formidable force on the field. In his junior year, Haynes tallied 5 1/2 sacks and a forced fumble, followed by four sacks, 47 tackles, and another forced fumble in his senior year.

Known for his length and agility, Haynes has a background as an outside linebacker, adding versatility to his skill set. Despite his potential, he is advised to focus on enhancing his strength and refining his pass-rushing technique to maximize his performance.

The Texans’ decision to sign Haynes demonstrates their commitment to strengthening their defense and adding depth to their roster. With his promising abilities and room for growth, Haynes could prove to be a valuable asset for the team in the upcoming season.
