Coach of the Houston Texans, DeMeco Ryans, stood with his family and applauded as the Rockets defeated the Raptors handily.

After the 2023 season, Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans revealed his intentions. Ryans’ main goal was to spend time with his family before he started working with general manager Nick Caserio to strengthen Houston’s team through free agency and the draft.

Ryans and his kids saw the Houston Rockets finish their three-game homestand with a 135-106 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night. As rookies Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore each recorded career highs, Ryans and his family were seated courtside.

Midway through the second quarter, the Rockets announced Ryans’ arrival, and the Toyota Center audience showered him with applause.

Ryans declared, “The most important thing is family.” “I’m always incredibly grateful for my family’s support and for witnessing it at every game. Whether we win or lose, it always makes me happy to see the smiles on the faces of my wife and children. I can’t wait to spend time with them and socialize with the other people in the automobile line. It will undoubtedly be enjoyable.”

Ryans helped the Houston Texans surpass their modest 2023 season projections in his first season as head coach. With a 10-7 regular season record, the Texans progressed to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, surprising many who thought they would win six games at most.

Along with Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions, John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens, Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers, and coach Kevin Stefanski of the Cleveland Browns, Ryans is a finalist for the AP NFL Coach of the Year award.

The Rockets had a number of special guests during their three-game homestand, in addition to Ryans. Xavien Howard, a native of Houston and cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, participated in the Rockets’ First Shot before the game.

Mike Evans, a wide receiver with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and an upcoming free agency, was present for the Rockets’ heartbreaking Wednesday night loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Speaking about free agency, Evans told Texans Daily, “I’m excited to see where I am going to end up.”
