Why Daniel Farke is relaxed ahead of the January transfer window.

Daniel Farke: Leeds United appoint former Norwich City boss - BBC Sport

In front of the January transfer window that opens next month, Daniel Farke maintains his composure and believes the team will keep all of its star players.

On a day when all three of the top three teams won and Southampton dropped points at Watford, United kept up the pressure on Leicester City and Ipswich Town with their 2-0 Championship success at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Dan James scored for the third time in as many games, and Crysencio Summerville reached nine goals for the season.

“No (it has not been discussed with the board), we don’t have to talk about this topic because everyone in this club knows we are ambitious and want to be successful and we want to keep our best players,” Farke responded when asked whether teams would be moving for their big stars in the upcoming season.

“In any case, there isn’t any desire to trade some of our important players to other teams.

“What justifies our action? Everybody knows what the circumstances are. Officials from the club don’t even need to discuss it.

Third-place United has only lost once since the end of September, while Leeds has won nine of their last 11 games.

Farke continued, “We know we are on a really good run at the moment and more or less second to none in the last two months in this league.” His team plays Sunderland on Tuesday night.

“We realise this is a huge victory, but we’re not getting ahead of ourselves. I’ve visited this location several times, and each time is challenging.

“We have accomplished both of these goals, and I am aware of how hard it is to win three points and come back with a spotless record.

“It seems enormous, but we can only feel happy about it for a short while. We have another tough road game coming up.”
